Tickets & Online Booking

When you confirm your purchase, you accept that all the following terms and conditions form the basis of any contract between the Chevening Estate and yourself.

You agree that the Chevening Estate retains the right to close at its absolute discretion the whole or any part of the Gardens at any time or to restrict the number of people having access to it.  All tickets are purchased in advance and the Chevening Estate may offer replacement tickets for admission to the Gardens on an alternative date or, at its absolute discretion, a full refund.

Security systems are in operation and you may be filmed throughout your visit.  As a condition of ticket purchase, visitors to Chevening Gardens consent to being photographed, filmed or sound recorded. Information held as a result of this or as a result of your booking online, is classed as personal data relating to identifiable living individuals, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. 

Guided tours with an expert on historic gardens can be organised and enquiries about these should be addressed to info@cheveninghouse.com. The Chevening Estate is not otherwise open to organised tour groups or coach parties.  The estate is not accessible to buses or coaches and due to lack of turning space no attempt should be made by such vehicles to turn north off the B2211 onto Chevening Road.

General 

Opening times and dates may change without prior notice at the discretion of the owners. Please check the website for details before your visit.

Everyone wishing to visit the Chevening Gardens must book online. Tickets are only valid for the date and time printed on the ticket. Tickets must be retained at all times and must be shown to staff whenever requested. Failure to produce a valid ticket on request may result in entry being denied or in removal from the garden.

An Adult is a person aged 16 and over. A Child is a person under 16 years of age.  All Children must be accompanied by an Adult over 18 years of age.

No Child will be allowed entry to the Garden unless they are accompanied by an Adult aged over 18 years and must at all times whilst on site remain strictly under the control or supervision of that Adult.

A maximum of 2 Children are allowed with one Adult who must be over 18 years of age.

Anyone living within a 1.5 mile radius of Chevening Gardens will be eligible for Concession Tickets having registered for an account in the course of booking. Proof of identity and address will be required on arrival.

Tickets do not allow access to the House which is private, and closed to visitors, or to any part of the grounds and estate other than the Gardens to the South of the House.  Anyone found in any area other than the Gardens and car parking area may be asked to leave.

Booking

To ensure that your details are secure, your credit / debit card details will be encrypted on a secure server.

Tickets are not transferrable.

Once purchased, tickets may not be used in conjunction with any other offer. No ticket may be resold.

When you visit you must have your booking reference number, your ticket print-out, or your e-ticket.

Prices are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change without notification.  All tickets are inclusive of VAT.

Cancellations & Refunds

Tickets are non-refundable (the only exception being when the Chevening Estate closes the Gardens on a day for which a valid ticket has already been purchased) and void if altered. Any tickets that the Chevening Estate reasonably suspects have been altered will not be honoured.  

The Chevening Estate will not refund tickets based on customers reconsidering their purchase, or for tickets that have been lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed.

In case of illness on the day of your visit, tickets cannot be refunded but can be transferred to an alternative public open day of your choice, provided written (email) communication is made in advance. 

General Conditions Of Entry

Free parking is available on site. 

Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk and the Chevening Estate is not responsible for any damage to vehicles using the car park.

No dogs are allowed, except for registered assistance dogs which must always be on a lead. 

Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited within the garden. 

Picnicking is not allowed in the garden other than on the National Garden Scheme charity open day in June.

The Chevening Estate reserves the right to prevent entry to Chevening Gardens and/or to remove from the premises anyone whose behaviour is inappropriate and/or undesirable and which may affect the safety and enjoyment of our staff or other visitors, without the right to a refund. 

Photography of the garden is for personal use only. Photographing the garden using a tripod requires prior written permission.

The following are not permitted

Bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, e-scooters, children’s scooters, and other recreational vehicles.

It is forbidden to swim, or in any way enter the lake or any water feature.

Visitors must on no account clamber on rocks or structures, climb trees, or pick plants and flowers.

Musical instruments or amplifying devices e.g. portable speakers are not permitted.

Any game or toy that is disruptive to the tranquillity of the garden and may in the opinion of the Chevening staff affect the enjoyment of other visitors is not permitted and may result in those visitors involved being required either to desist or to leave.

Drones and free-standing photography equipment including tripods and easels are not permitted without prior written permission from the Chevening Estate, which must be carried at all times when in the Gardens. Please email info@cheveninghouse.com for further information.

Barbecues are not permitted anywhere in the garden at any time.

Weapons of any kind, or items that look like weapons, and any illegal substance are all strictly forbidden.

Liability

Whilst we endeavour to ensure that the information on this site is accurate, we shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of or inability to use this site, or any information contained in it, or from any action or decision taken as a result of using this site or any such information.

Anyone visiting the Chevening Estate does so entirely at their own risk and the Estate shall incur no liability whatsoever for any damage to the property of or injury to any person howsoever caused.

Anyone visiting the Chevening Gardens shall be strictly liable for any damage which they cause to the property of the Estate in any form whatsoever.

Weather

The Chevening Estate accepts no liability if a customer is unable to attend an event due to adverse weather conditions or any travel disruption.

Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
